Beach Cleaning

Date: 07.10.2023

We are thrilled to share some fantastic news with you today! The Rotary Club of Grand Baie has just completed a successful beach cleanup initiative, and we are excited to report that we have removed a total of 4.5 cubic meters (m³) of waste from our beloved public beach of Pointe Aux Biches ( Pointe Aux Piment) near LSR Recreation Center.

This accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our amazing team of volunteers, who came together to make a positive impact on our environment. Their commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier beach for our community is truly commendable.

During the cleanup, we encountered a diverse range of waste materials, including plastic bottles, cans, and even car tires. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that every piece of waste was responsibly collected and removed from the beach, contributing to a safer and more beautiful natural environment for all to enjoy.

We believe that small actions can lead to significant change, and our beach cleanup is just one step toward a cleaner, greener future. We would like to express our gratitude to all our volunteers, Rotaract of Triolet, Grand Baie, Petit Raffrey and Riviere Du Rempart and partners, Beach Authority, Pamplemousses District Council, Trou Aux Biches Police Station, who made this cleanup possible. Your dedication and passion for environmental conservation are inspiring.

Stay tuned for more updates on our future environmental projects, as we remain committed to making a positive impact in our community and beyond.
